A shaft of sunlight on the very far end of West Kerry picks out two hikers holding hands as they descend Mount Brandon.
The Maharees (or Magharees; sources seem to disagree) are a series of small islands off the coast of North County Kerry. Here we are just in front of Doonagaun Island, with Illaunoon to the right, and the Brandon mountains, around which a cloud inversion has just wrapped as the sun attempts to penetrate that mist.
